WebMary Ann Bugg (7 May 1834 – 22 April 1905) was a Worimi bushranger, [1] one of two notable female bushrangers in mid-19th century Australia. She was an expert horse rider and bush navigator who travelled with her bushranging partner and lover Captain Thunderbolt . Early years [ edit] WebMary Ann lived for the rest of her life at Mudgee where she died in 1905. [2] In 1868 Ward took on another young accomplice, William Monckton, and they committed many robberies in northern New South Wales. [2] They separated in December 1868 and soon afterwards Monckton was captured by the police. [2] Ward did not have any other accomplices. [2]
