WebJan 28, 2002 · In a 67, the hood clearance is not an issue. If you have the 302 but need a rebuild, maybe consider a 347 stroker. If you need to purchase either engine, go with the 351 W for the torque and milder combo for the same power. But it will be super expensive and probably miserable to drive. And it will blow to smithereens if the slightest thing goes wrong. You have a 69-70. Plenty of room for a bigger motor. Build a 351W-based ~400 cubic inch stroker and have FUN instead of PROBLEMS.
